Common Questions
If your question isn’t here, call the clinic — we’re happy to talk it through.
Do I need a referral?
No — you can book without a referral. Some insurance plans ask for one before they’ll reimburse, so it’s worth checking your own plan.
How do I know what to book?
Choose First visit if it’s your first time here. Returning clients choose between a full session and a 15-minute pulse reading for a herb refill. There’s no therapy to pick — Anthony decides what to use once he’s seen you, and often combines several in one visit.
What happens on a first visit?
The time covers talking through your concerns and an assessment before treatment begins. Anthony may read your pulse and examine your tongue as part of that. Pulse reading is included at no extra charge on a first visit.
How early should I arrive?
About 15 minutes before your first appointment, so you can complete the client information form without rushing. You can also download it, fill it in at home and bring it with you.
Do you direct-bill my insurance?
We direct-bill most major insurers, and we bill WCB Alberta directly. Motor vehicle accident claims work differently — you pay at the time of your visit and submit the receipt to your own insurer, and we’ll give you what you need for the claim.
What if I need to cancel?
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations or reschedules with less than 24 hours’ notice, and missed appointments, are subject to a $50 fee. If something comes up, call us — we’d rather hear from you early.
Can I be seen the same day?
Same-day requests are welcome whenever you can see an open slot. If it’s urgent, call the clinic instead — the phone is faster than the online request.
Is my booking confirmed straight away?
Not immediately. A booking is a request until the clinic reviews it. Once we approve it you’ll get a confirmation email with links to reschedule or cancel, and a reminder before your visit.
What languages do you speak?
English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, Hakka, Foochow and Malay.
Are you open on Tuesdays?
No — the clinic is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. We’re open Wednesday to Sunday.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your situation — there’s no set number. Anthony decides case by case and will talk it through with you once he’s seen you.
There’s nothing available online. Are you fully booked?
Not necessarily — not every appointment is offered online. If you can’t find a time that works, call the clinic and we’ll see what we can do.
